EDITORIAL :Importation does not secure food security
Imported vegetables. Imported rice. Imported pork. Imported chicken. Imported fish. Imported agricultural corporation.
This is one picture of the state of agriculture in the country.
The country does not have to be import dependent in terms of food on the table.
Vegetables, rice, pork, chicken and fish can be sustainably produced by the Filipino farmers, Filipino fishermen and Filipino agriculture business people. (more…)
CORTEZ: Tuloy ang laban ni Jack Enrile
“I wish to inform everybody that I have not withdrawn nor contemplated on the idea of withdrawing from the May 2013 senatorial race. It has come to my attention that some misguided minds have been poisoning the social media through tweets and misleading news about my so-called withdrawal. This is simply not true. I have no reason to withdraw when the race has not even started,” Cagayan Representative Jack Enrile said.
“Again, let it be said that there is simply no truth to the rumor. What is true is that I have stepped up my resolve to see this electoral exercise to its very end. Win or lose,” added Jack Enrile.
Hahaha. BOK, hindi lang pala ikaw ang biktima…pati ang friend mo na si Cong Jack Enrile ay biktima ngayon ng black propaganda.
Siyempre, sumakay ang mga mya maitim na balak sa mga nangyayari sa kanyang erpat na si senate president Juan Ponce Enrile sa senado.
May mga nag-iisip na ang mga kandidato na malapit sa 12th spot ng survey ang may pakana nito.
Ang bira ba kay Cong Jack ay dahil siya ay lumalakas at mas nagiging popular sa mga tao sa kanyang puspsusang pagpapakilala ng kanyang advocacy para sa food sovereignty?

CSC revalidates BFAR’s authority to appoint employees

SAN FERNANDO CITY – The Civil Service Commission has revalidated the authority of the Bureau of Fisheries and Aquatic Resources Ilocos regional office to take final actions on appointments of its employees, both permanent and temporary.
Ilocos CSC Regional Director Nelson Sarmiento said the authority means the appointments made by the BFAR regional director would no longer be attested by the CSC and the appointments made by the BFAR regional director are already final . (more…)
P-Noy questions BOI on Charoen Pokphand
ROSALES – Agriculture Secretary Proceso Alcala said President Aquino raised questions on the standards used by the Board of Investments (BOI) in granting pioneering status to Thailand-based Charoen Pokphand (CP) company and allowing it to enjoy a six-year tax holiday and other incentives.
In a press statement, Alcala said the President has shared his concerns over the BOI decision that also granted the company a 30 percent incentive for the importation of corn and other raw feed materials. (more…)
