Espino says there’s more to be proud of as Pangasinense

LINGAYEN- “ Today, we have so much more to be proud of as a people. Today, Pangasinan is widely known, not just for its inherent political value as a vote –rich province, but more importantly as a consistent performer in local governance.”
This was the opening statements of Governor Amado T. Espino Jr. before the Pangasinenses who attended his 6th State of the Province Address (SOPA) at the Capitol grounds last February 18.
His SOPA entitled “Marvelous Gains” outlined Espino’s accomplishments as governor from June 30, 2007 focusing on many awards given by various agencies on local governance. (more…)

TPLEX interchange relocated to ease traffic flow

ROSALES- Instead of the proposed road interchange in Tumana West village here on the construction of the Tarlac-Pangasinan- La Union Expressway (TPLEX), the interchange has been relocated to Palakipak village here to ease out vehicular traffic in the major road arteries ,in this town.
The relocation of the interchange was proposed by Mayor Ricardo V. Revita, which was approved by the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH). (more…)

EDITORIAL: Rota ng bigas nabago dahil sa smuggling

Kung dati, ipinagmamalaki ng Mindanao na hindi sila binabagyo…ngayon dahil sa climate change daw ay malalakas na ang bagyo at dumadalas pa ang paghagupit doon.

Dispalinghado na ang rice distribution system sa Pilipinas dahil sa smuggling.

May isang panahon sa kasaysayan ng Pilipinas na mula sa rice producing provinces ng Northern at Central Luzon nagmumula ang bigas patungo sa Metro Manila.

CORTEZ: Pilipinas binastos sa Tubbataha

Sa totoo lang binastos ang Pilipinas sa isyu ng pagsayad ng MS Guardian sa Tubbataha Reef.

Ang Tubbataha ay mula sa salitang Samal na ang ibig sabihin ay long reef.

Walang opisyal ng gobyerno o kahit ni isang pulitiko ang nagsasabi na kabastusan ang ginawa ng Amerika sa teritoryo ng Pilipinas.

Tama si Donald Trump Jr sa kanyang obserbasyon na “Yes, a $277-million boat is more important than a 200×50 section of reef that has already been run over” dahil ang mundo niya ay tungkol lang sa pera…anak bilyonaryo kasi. (more…)

ON ASINGAN’S “FREE ZONE” Chua welcomes another NPC bet

ASINGAN- “ Under free zone status, it’s no longer the party that could spell victory but the track record of a candidate.”
This was revealed by Mayor Heidee Ganigan-Chua who is seeking her second term as the local chief executive against incumbent Vice Mayor Eleanor Viray.
Chua and Viray, both under the Nationalist People’s Coalition (NPC) were former running mates in May 2010 elections when they won as mayor and vice mayor, respectively.
“ I am very confident that my track record as the municipal mayor will be remembered by the town’s electorate. I welcome the decision of the party with open heart in declaring the town as a ‘free zone’ area, “ Chua said. (more…)

Mayor Bobom welcomes delegates of RSPC

URDANETA CITY-“ It is a big challenge for the city to host this big event. It is not a joke the preparations we have done to ensure that you are safe and comfortable during your stay here.”
These were the words of City Mayor Amadeo Gregorio “Bobom” Perez IV in welcoming the delegates of the Regional Schools Press Conference (RSPC) during the opening ceremonies last February 13 at the Cultural and Sports Complex here.
“ Our city has consistently been in the frontline in the development of children and in championing for youth development. May this RSPC become a way for our youth to be molded and awakened to realities as our leaders of the future,” Perez said. (more…)
