URBIZTONDO- Mayor Raul Martin Sison II said he fears for his life after he received death threats following the death  of the two towns employees who were close to him.

This he revealed in a press conference on November 29 held at the Sangguniang Bayan Hall here.

In his press statement, Sison said  he was extremely sad and had to take action on the abuses of human rights  and the violence among his constituents, which he said were becoming a threat to the once peaceful town in the 2nd District of Pangasinan.

It can be recalled that on November 24, Jeric “Uno” Caguioa, Sison’s driver and body guard, was mercilessly gunned down by still unknown assailants.

On June 11, Cesar “Bong” Teniente, a cemetery care taker, was also killed senselessly in front of his house after alighting from his vehicle.

“ These two municipal employees are known to be humble, industrious, responsible, real friends and could be trusted. I sympathized with their families and pray that justice will soon be served to them,” Sison said.

He also said that the situation in his town is no longer normal and bereft of respect for human lives.

“ I am asking with humility to those who perpetrated these senseless loss of lives to stop whatever motives they may have. Please spare innocent people,” he said.

On his death threats, Mayor Sison said that on September 7 at 11:00 in the evening, he noticed a white AUV that stopped in front of his house in Galarin village, this town, from which a person alighted, acted suspiciously then  fired his gun.

On November 4 while traveling from NLE to SCTEX, he observed that a white car was tailing his car. When the plate number of the car was verified at the Land Transportation Office (LTO), it was a fake.

Sison also recalled that aside from the two killings, a search operation was conducted  on October 11 at the houses of Punong Barangay Rocky “Bimbo” Palisoc and former Punong Barangay Teofilo “Deroy” Ferrer.

“ At present, that search operations were now  under investigation by the PNP National Headquarters. A complaint on “Irregularity in the Performance of Duty” and Conduct Unbecoming of Police Officer” was already filed against the police officer who conducted the search operation against Punong Barangay Palisoc. I thanked PNP Chief General. Archie Francisco Gamboa and the PNP Internal Affairs Service for conducting a fair investigation on the said incident,” Sison said.

The young mayor also lamented that the gains they have in the development and progress of the town are slowly eroding due to the said incidents.

“Under my five years administration of the town, we have the lowest crime index in the 2nd District, declared as a drug-cleared municipality and three years awardee of the Seal of Good Local Governance from the Department of Interior and Local Government (DILG).I know that all of us want a peaceful town where we could raise our family peacefully. I know that we want to be freely roaming around our streets, go to the market and plazas without fear. We pray that these incidents will soon pass and end,” Sison said emotionally.

Sison has called on the attention of President Duterte and PNP Chief Gamboa to help him in running after the criminal elements that are freely roaming, in bringing justice to the families of those killed  and to end all sort of violence in the town.

“Help us  restore the peace and order so that we could live peacefully in our town,” Sison said.
