BALUNGAO- The Hilltop Adventure remains to be the number one “bread and butter” of the  town, contributing P11 million to the local revenues in 2017.

This was disclosed by Mayor Philipp G. Peralta to media practitioners during the special KBP Forum-Pangasinan Chapter held at the Municipal Hall’s Conference Room last August 20.

“We are improving our agro-ecotourism sites like the Hilltop Adventure to boost the town’s tourism industry. We are also developing our market sites to cater to more business activities. A new market is being constructed in San Leon village where more than 100 business operators applied. These are now our local income generating projects, including our municipal cemetery,” Mayor Peralta said.

The other income generating projects have contributed P9 million local revenues in 2017, beefing up the Internal Revenue Allotment (IRA) for the 4th class municipality.Tourism Officer Cromwell Oliver Hernandez said that in 2017, the Hilltop Adventure was visited by more than 106,000 local and foreign tourists.

“The Hilltop Adventure boasts of zipline, hot spring resort and swimming pools. This year we are adding additional amenities such as wall climbing, sky biking and Balungao Spa where tourists could avail of body massage,” Hernandez said.

The Hilltop Adventure is located at the foot of Balungao Mountain in Pugaro village here.

Mayor Peralta added that the existing Small Water Impounding Projects (SWIP) and the Small Farm Reservoirs (SFR) will also be developed into agro-ecotourism sites.

“Thank you for selecting our town as the site of your broadcastreeing activity this year,” Mayor Peralta told the officers of  KBP-Pangasinan Chapter.

Meanwhile, the tree planting activity, which was participated in by media practitioners  and volunteers was conducted last August 25 where more than 2,000 tree seedlings were planted at the vicinity of the Hilltop Adventure site.

The KBP broadcastreeing was sponsored by Abono Partylist and the municipal government of this town.
