City hall donor can deduct gift from  gross income – BIR

By Mortz C. Ortigoza

DAGUPAN CITY – The donor of the property for the planned city hall can deduct his donation from his taxable gross income, according to a high official of the Bureau of Internal Revenue.

CPA-Lawyer Maria Isabel B. Utit, chief of the BIR in Eastern Pangasinan, said the National Internal Revenue Code (NIRC) provides that contribution to the government political subdivision is deductible in full.

“Contributions or gifts actually paid or made within the taxable year to, or for the use of the government of the Philippines or any of its agencies or any political subdivision thereof exclusively for public purposes,” she quoted parts of  Paragraph H Section 34 of the Nantional Internal Revenue Code (NIRC).

This means that the property price can be deducted from gross income of donors like Kerwin Fernandez.

This law, according to Utit, was hammered by Congress to encourage citizens to donate to the government. (more…)

CORTEZ: Correct. Tama ka diyan, 100 percent

brando-maso

GOVERNMENT FAILED THE GARLIC INDUSTRY.

PEACE PROCESS. STOP OR GO?

“Winning the peace for the people is harder than ending the war that victimizes people”-Nani Braganza, Member GRP Peace Panel

“Spoilers are as passionate as the peacemakers!!!” sabi Government Peace Panel Member Hernani Braganza.

State of the Nation Address.

Napag-usapan din positively ang end to contractualization of workers, free tuition in state colleges and universities at land reform.

Share ko muna sa inyo itong sinabi ng Communist Party of the Philippines sa isang pahayag nito noong July 20, “It is a strongman’s act of bad faith aimed at bullying the NDFP to bow to his terms of surrender.”

I bully people who try to topple government. That is my job to bully you and to kill you because there is war going on between us and you. When the time comes, maybe I will kill you if I have the chance.”

Ituloy na lang daw ang giyera! Kahit na 50 years na bakbakan!

“Let us renew the fighting for another 50 years, it’s what you want,” sabi ni Mayor Rody.

“Who are you threatening? You want to destroy this country? We will join you. Bully? I am a bully,” sabi ni Mayor Rody.

EXTENDED MARTIAL LAW.

“The result of the voting in Congress show that 261 in the affirmative and 18 in the negative. The motion to extend proclamation of martial law and the suspension of the privilege of writ of habeas corpus is hereby approved by the Congress,” sabi ni Speaker Pantaleon Alvarez sa joint session ng Congress.
