Villasis to create public order and safety office

 VILLASIS- The Municipal Advisory Council (MAC) here convened at the police station last July 4 to tackle the adoption of Provincial Advisory Council’s (PAC) resolutions that were passed and approved by PAC chaired by Laoac Mayor Silverio D. Alarcio Jr. during a meeting last June 6 at the Sky Plaza in Natividad town.

 The resolutions are contained in PAC Resolution Nos. 2017-3 and 2017-5 urging local government units (LGUs) to ” consider the issuance of a directive for the organization of local public order and safety office or unit (POSO) in all the municipalities of Pangasinan” and adopt and implement the Project Huli-Cam (Holistic and Unified Law Enforcement Imager Camera) “, respectively.

 Before adopting the said resolutions, MAC Chair Roderick Emmanuel R. Mina, also the Municipal Planning and Development Coordinator, apprised the Council’s members and the station’s technical working group on the current status of the town’s plans regarding the matters.

 He said, the Closed Circuit Camera Televisions (CCCTV), which are currently installed will be replaced with new CCTVs with a budget of P800,000.00 and will be installed in more strategic places of the town.

On the creation of POSO, Mina said that the municipal government is at present studying the personnel complement as it is barred from employing additional personnel due to 60% cap on personal services.

He said he will refer the matter to Mayor Nonato S. Abrenica.

Since the CCCTVs are already in place, the Council adopted PAC Resolution 20017-3 as moved by Vice Chair Virgilio Maganes and seconded by member Georgina Dittmar.

Before the adoption of the resolution, Police Senior Inspector Rodrigo G. Lubiano Jr., Deputy Chief of Police, on behalf of OIC Chief of Police Brendon B. Palisoc, briefed the MAC members on the current status of the town’s police operations on the arrest of wanted persons, crime statistics, and localized anti-criminality action plan.

Lubiano said from January to June 2017, 13 wanted persons on various crimes were arrested, six persons were arrested in violation of Republic Act No. 9165 or the Dangerous Drugs Act and six persons arrested for violating Republic Act No. 10591 or Illegal Firearms and Ammunitions Act.

Regarding crime statistics for the period January to June as compared to that in the same period of 2016, Lubiano said that there was a decline on murder, theft, carnapping/motornapping and vehicular traffic incidents.

He also said the Sangguniang Bayan has already adopted and approved the police station’s localized Anti-Criminality Action Plan (LACAP) on crime prevention and suppression, drug supply reduction program, campaign against illegal gambling and traffic management control.

Other MAC members who were present are: Nenita Mari, Pastor Rome Verosil and Eduviges Villanueva. Dr. Jocelyn R. Mina, District Supervisor of Villasis I, was on official business.

The Technical Working Group (TWG)/Secretariat are: SPO3 Fredelyn D. Zamora, SPO4 Jorlan P. Salcedo, SPO2 Michelle C. Miran, PO2 Ryan B. Leonin, PO2 Cressilda E. Bergado, SPO1 Cristopher A. Bautista, non-uniformed personnel Edeva Jane P. Mangaoang, SPO4 Albert V. Motilla and SPO4 Valentino M. Mostoles.
