He added that the Land Bank of the Philippines had already approved the official intention of the local government unit here.
In January 5 this year, the legislature under Vice Mayor Surdilla unanimously approved the authority for Mayor Parayno to engage in the pre-selling of stalls at the Phase-II.
An excerpt of Resolution No. 2017-02 said the Phase-II is a replacement to the old market gutted by fire in 2009 to “ease the smooth transition of business transaction of the project to the businessmen who are interested to avail of stalls at the public market.”
Fernando Saguisag Cabrera, administrative officer 4 of the local government here, said the already collected P10 million pesos goodwill money would be exclusively allocated, as the ordinance mandates, on rehabilitation of the Phase II market.

SM Rosales and Tarlac inspect guards

By Mortz C. Ortigoza
ROSALES – A joint tactical inspection and general formation of security guards of SM City Rosales and SM City Tarlac was conducted recently here.
SM Super Malls Senior Vice President Antolin Paule said this is the ninth year that activity was done.
A total of 157 security guards underwent a pass and review and subjected themselves and their gadgets for thorough inspection to the group led by Paule.
“Two hundred participated in the activity,  157 of whom are security guards,” said Kristine Joy Santiago, public relation officer of SM-Rosales.
Some of them were commended and awarded because of their honest deeds  like returning lost valuable belongings of customers  and for  apprehending persons who took SM’s commodities and took advantage of unwary clients.
Paule said the formation and inspection are  done annually.
“Ito ang tinatawag namin na joint tactical inspection (JTI). Ang affair na ito to inspect all our security guards. We are doing this annually all over the country,” he said.
Paule, an engineer, is also the over-all SM’s Engineering Division Designer and head of security department.
The event was also attended by this town’s chief of police Inspector Ador M. Tayag and his men.

Eastern Pangasinan BIR No. 1 in tax collection

By Mortz C. Ortigoza

URDANETA CITY – The Revenue District Office-6 of the Bureau of Internal Revenue based here beat its five counterparts in the region for having the most taxes collected in the first quarter of the year.

Bir Utit Award 1

NO. 1: Revenue District Office-6 (Eastern Pangasinan) Chief CPA-Lawyer Maria Isabel B. Utit (second from left) and RDO-6 Assistant Chief Charmaine C. dela Torre (third from left) receive the Plaque of Appreciation from Bureau of Internal Revenue Regional Director Teresita M. Dizon and Regional Assistant Director Fely Simon for being the No. 1 collection performer in the region for March 2017. The award was given recently at the 4th Regional Staff Conference at Revenue Region-1 in Calasiao, Pangasinan.

CPA- Lawyer Maria Isabel Barcia Utit, head of RDO-6, said the increase in the collection  was because of the remittances by private and government sectors and the BIR staff’s unceasing prodding of other taxpayers to pay the correct taxes.
“RDO-6-Urdaneta City hailed as No. 1 collection performer district in Revenue Region 1 for substantially exceeding its collection goal for March 2017. I am congratulating the men and women of RDO-6. We are the top performing district for the first quarter of 2017. To all our stakeholders, thank you for your continuing support and cooperation,” Utit said.
RDO-6 Chief said the game changer why her office topped the highest collection in Region-1 was the 60 percent revenue collection increase in January this year versus the collection in the same month last year.
Aside from RDO-6 the other top performer RDOs based on the January-February data are
RDO- 1  – Laoag City, Ilocos Norte ranked as No.2; RDO-2 Vigan City, Ilocos Sur ranked No. 3; RDO-5  Alaminos City, Pangasinan ranked No. 6; RDO-3 San Fernando City, La Union.
According to RDO-6 Assistant Chief Charmaine C. dela Torre, the District, that supervises one city and 15 towns, has a tax target of P1.65 billion for this year.

ORTIGOZA: Poe should be clear if she wants to be president

One of the major reasons why Senator Grace Poe was overtaken in the polls by presidential rival Rodrigo Duterte more than a month before the May 9, 2016 national election was because the feisty mayor was unequivocal that he would see dreaded drug pushers dead.
Some 16 million voters, gee whiz, applauded Duterte whenever he threatened in that hustling  to turn red Manila Bay with the very blood of his pet peeves  narcotics peddlers.
“Manalo ako kasi because of breakdown of law and order (I will win because of the breakdown of law and order). I do not want to commit a crime but if by chance, God will place me there, magbantay kayo. Yung 1,000, magiging 100,000. Diyan mo makita tataba yung isda sa Manila Bay. Diyan ko kayo itapon (The 1,000  dead drug pushers would become 100,000. The fish at Manila Bay would go fat because I am going to feed you there)”.
The crowd cheered wildly every time he repeated this pledge.
