STO. TOMAS—This agricultural town which clinched the Guinness World Records for  Longest Barbecue title  2008,  will make another attempt to wrest two more titles, the Longest Line of Tables and the Longest Picnic Line, on April 2.
Mayor Timoteo Villar III said all is set for their twin bids in the world’s authority in record-breaking achievements. They have conducted a dry-run on March 12. Another is set to be held on March 27 to perfect everything and to ensure they would get two more crowns.
For the Longest Line of Tables title, the town will set up 2,470 interconnected tables that measure eight feet (2.43 meters) long each from their town welcome arc in the boundary of Rosales town up to the exit to the nearby town of Alcala that spans about six kilometers.
Villar said for the Longest Picnic Line (or commonly called by Filipinos as boodle fight), the food will be composed of steamed rice with adobong Sto. Tomas con maiz, an original town recipe.

Selected townsfolk will prepare 3,600 kilos of raw meat (pork) with corresponding 3,600 kilos of mixed vegetables for the adobong Sto. Tomas con maiz. About 60 heads of pigs with about 80 kilos will be slaughtered for the adobo.
They will also cook 60 cavans of steamed rice. About 100 persons will be directly involved in the food cooking simultaneously done at the town’s Food Processing Building.
Maiz (corn) is the town’s One Town, One Product that earned for it a Guinness world title for its Longest Barbecue in 2008 when townsfolk successfully set up its 3,803.96 meters long barbecue by grilling its own product, the white glutinous corn using 93, 540 corn ears.
For the documentation proper, there will be eight persons each per table who will partake of the food for the picnic. Each person will wear a white t-shirt provided by the local government.
About 20,000 people are expected to join in their Longest Picnic Line, most of them are from this town while others are their invited guests and relatives from their neighboring areas.
During their dry-run on March 12, they, however, used only 89 tables with 10 persons from the  Department of Education, town employees, barangay officials and residents as well as Barangay Health Workers.
The participants partook of cooked 57 kilos of meat and corresponding quantity of mixed vegetables for their adobong Sto. Tomas con maiz.
Villar said they will try to take the crown from Radioactive (Egypt) in Alexandria, Egypt, the current record holder for Longest Line of Tables with 4.3 kilometers or 4,303 meters long achieved on June 26, 2015. There were 3,106 tables set along the coast of Alexandria at that time.
The Longest Picnic Line title is held by the City of Kitchener, Ontario, Canada which it won on July 15, 2012. Approximately 4,000 people participated in this picnic and ate pizzas, bananas and bearpaws.
It may be recalled that during the time of then Mayor Vivien Villar, who is Timoteo Villar’s aunt, the town got the Longest Barbecue title in 2008 during the town’s 100th founding anniversary.
