Raid yields motorcycles, shabu, cash
ASINGAN -A 37-year old mother faces different cases after the police discovered in her house several motorcycles, more than 30 heads of goats, five sachets of suspected shabu, and P431,927 cash.
Senior Inspector Renante Organista, town deputy police chief, said the search warrant was issued by the court against Cristina Ballicud of Poblacion East in this eastern Pangasinan town because of reports that she possessed unlicensed firearms and ammunition.
But during the raid at five am Tuesday, the police found eight motorcycles believed to be carjacked because Ballicud was not able to show documents of ownership.
The police also received reports that Ballicud was behind the theft of goats not only in the town but adjoining towns. Ballicud’s mother allegedly sells goat meat.
Organista said those complaining about missing goats can look at the animals in Ballicud’s yard to find out if they own the goats there.
He added that Ballicud could not explain why she was keeping almost half a million cash in her house.
The warrant issued by 7th Municipal Trial Court Judge Camilo Asuncion was for the search of four firearms, by caliber 22 was found.
The police would file cases of illegal possession of firearms, theft, and possession of illegal drugs. YOLANDA SOTELO
