ASINGAN- Mayor Heidee Ganigan-Chua in this town affirmed her strong support to the Mamamayang Ayaw sa Anomalya, Mamamayang Ayaw sa Iligal na Droga (Masa Masid), a program of the Department of Interior and Local Government (DILG) and renewed her call to revitalize Ugnayan sa Barangay at Simbahan (Ubas).
This was stressed by Chua during the meeting of the Municipal Anti Drug Abuse Council (Madac) held recently.
Masa Masid, Chua said, envisions to unite different organizations in creating safer and drug-free communities.
It also stresses the importance of multi-sectoral linkages in communities in combatting the spread of illegal drugs, as well as corruption and criminality.
” The Ubas will be revitalized in the town. In the past, we have seen it as a potent group to bring barangay officials and religious groups together for programs on good governance and community development,” Mayor Chua said.

Chua said the local government  under her administration strongly supports the intensified program of the Duterteadministration against illegal drugs, criminality and corruption.
Meanwhile, Mayor Chua officiated the marriage of  34 newlywed couples who availed free mass wedding under the Kasalang Bayan project last February 14 at the Hon. Francisco Sapigao Sr. Sports Complex.
The ceremony, organized by the Municipal Civil Registrar, is funded by the municipal government which aims to legalize the union of unwedded couples in the town.
Apart from the gift of matrimony, the newlyweds were given presents, including flowers, wedding cakes, wine plus free nuptial photographs.
