ALAMINOS CITY- City Mayor Arthur F. Celeste informed the city officials and employees of the various development activities he has done to make the city a haven for tourism and business in western Pangasinan.
During the flag raising ceremony last February 6, Celeste said he had a meeting with top officials and representatives of various travel services companies that are instrumental in bringing luxury cruise ships to the Hundred Islands and followed-up with the Department of Transportation (DOT) the status of the airport project.
“I have also exploratory talks and initial discussions with possible investors interested in putting up a 5-star hotel at Lucap Bay Area and seaplane operations. These things occupied my few days out in my office in the last two-weeks,”Celeste said.
He said the Department of Tourism (DoT) will be downloading the budget of the multi-million peso airport-project next year.
He also said the moves ensure the full potentials of the city in term of business, tourism and sustainable development.
Celeste is also set to have a meeting with Vice Mayor Jose Antonio Miguel Yatco Perez and members of the city council to discuss the passage of a Private-Public Partnership Project Ordinance.
“This ordinance will provide avenues to enrich our tourism industry, create more job opportunities and make Hundred Islands a major tourism destination not only in Pangasinan but in the whole country,” he said.
