Arcinue asks DA to support proposed seafood processing plant

SUAL- If approved by the Department of Agriculture (DA), this farming and fishing town will soon have a seafood processing plant.
This was the content of the letter of Mayor Roberto “Bing” Arcinue to Agriculture Secretary Emmanuel “Manny” Piñol, which was handed to him during his visit last December 29 during the turn-over ceremonies of “fishery projects” in the town at the Bagsakan Trading Center.
Arcinue said the proposed seafood processing plant will effectively handle the 60,000 kilograms of daily harvest of “bangus” (milkfish) or 50 million kilograms per year.
“Aside from improving the handling of “bangus” harvests, the said facility will also provide additional source of livelihood to the people of the town,” he said.
