ALAMINOS CITY – Residents of this city were in festive mood during the night of December 8 as the city government led by Mayor Arthur F. Celeste and Vice Mayor Jose Antonio Miguel Y. Perez switched on the lights of the giant Christmas Tree at the Peoples Park here.
Tourists were were excited and overwhelmed when the flickering lights were finally turned on that lighted up the city’s skyline.
Christmas Event Chairman Miguel Sison said local residents have a great time seeing the spectacular Christmas lightings at the Plaza Marcelo Ochave, at the Peoples Park, at the new Lucap Park and at the facade of Saint Joseph Cathedral Church.
“We invite everyone to join the festive fun. Bring your whole family and friends along and enjoy the holidays under the sparkling Christmas trees, lanterns and lights,” Sison said.
The city government has been organizing the festive display at the heart of the city for 4th consecutive year as one of its gifts to the people and guests.
As part the annual Holiday-themed contests, Inter-Barangay Lantern and Inter-Office Christmas Tree Making competitions were also launched.
Mayor Celeste extended his heartfelt gratitude to the barangay (village) officials, department heads and the organizers for taking part to the said activities.
“Your valuable contributions and cooperation made these fun-filled and festive happenings possible and has brought so much joy and excitement anew to everyone’s heart,” Celeste said.
He also urged the residents to continue the holiday tradition in the city with their families, friends and children in the years to come.
“As we celebrate the birth of our Savior Jesus Christ, we welcome and embrace Him in our hearts. Let us also celebrate our coming together as one family and a united and stronger Alaminos community,” he said.
