Ubaldo praises ABS-CBN, volunteer probation assistants
DAGUPAN CITY – The chief of the Probation and Parole Administration in the 4th District of Pangasinan, Calasiao, and Sta. Barbara, lauded ABS-CBN, Christina Reyes, and Volunteer Probation Assistants (VPAs) for their support to improve the welfare of the probationers and parolees (PP).
LIVELIHOOD WITH ABS-CBN. Probationers and parolees in the 4th Congressional District of Pangasinan flank the staff of the Probation and Parole Administration led by Audie Mar D. Ubaldo, Jonathan Ortega of ABS-CBN, Christina Reyes and her companion from the Volunteer Probation Assistants in the recent second rounds of the livelihood skills training on therapeutic massage held recently at the Mayor’s Pavillon in Brgy. Bonuan Gueset, Dagupan City.
Audie Mar D. Ubaldo said the giant TV network in Northern Luzon led by News Chief Jonathan Ortega, Reyes, and the VPAs unconditionally helped the PPs on voluntary basis.
“Nakakataba ng puso po at binigay nila ang kanilang loob at atensiyon para sa atin. It only shows na talagang concerned sila,” Ubaldo said.
Reyes met last October 12 with the probationers and parolees for the second round of the livelihood skills training on therapeutic massage held at the Mayor’s Pavillon in Barangay Bonuan Gueset.
Last September 14, the Probation and Parole Administration and Reyes introduced massage therapy training so they can use their newly acquired skills for livelihood.
Ubaldo said that the aims of the therapeutic community (TC) were to instill discipline, humility, and honesty among the probationers and parolees who are given the chance to reform outside the prison cells.
“Iyon po ang isa na emphasized namin sa kanila, there must be humility, honesty,” he said.
Ubaldo hailed the support of the broadcast and print media by covering their worthy endeavor with ABS-CBN. He also thanked Reyes, the proprietor of The Massage Habitat in Calasiao, Pangasinan, and the VPAs.
“Kasi ang ginagawa natin dito nai-ipublish na po. Hinde lang dito sa community ang nakakaalam kung ano pa ang mahalagang ginagawa natin, nababasa na po ng iba”.
Ubaldo cited the participation of ABS-CBN to promote the welfare of the PP was one of the biggest if not the biggest event his office had seen.
A huge tarpaulin displayed inside the Pavillon from the giant TV networks says “Lingkod Kapamilya Trabaho Patrol: Pag-Asa at Pagbabago”.
He said on November 16, Reyes and her staff would be conducting another livelihood skills training on hair cutting, manicuring, and others with the probationers and parolees at the same venue as to the September 14 and October 12 events.
PP officer John Yasco said on October 28, the probationers and parolees and the village officials of Barangay Imelda in San Jacinto had a tree planting at the same place.
