DAGUPAN CITY- Fifth District Rep. Amado T. Espino Jr. said he was more than happy and finally relieved after President Rodrigo “Digong” Duterte  personally cleared his name on his alleged connection of the “drug link matrix” at the New Bilibid Prison.
Duterte was in Arayat, Pampanga last September 27 inspecting the seized shabu laboratory (believed to be the biggest in the country) when he announced that he could not find any link or connection of former Governor Espino, former Provincial Administrator Rafael Baraan and 2nd District Board Member Raul P. Sison on the “drug link matrix”
He also accepted the fact that there were lapses made when he announced the said “matrix” last August 25.
With that announcement, Espino said he kept his silence on the issue because he knew that the truth will finally come out after President Duterte assured him that he will conduct revalidation on the “matrix”.
Espino also said that his high respect, trust and support to President Duterte will remain especially on his war against illegal drugs.
“I am humbled by the pronouncement of the President today on clearing my involvement on the alleged drug matrix released last August 25, 2016. I kept my silence for the past three weeks as I know beyond reasonable doubt that I am not guilty of this allegation. More so, when I had the opportunity last August 30, 2016 for a meeting with the President, he promised me to have the matrix re-validated by the proper authorities. Although my family and the people of Pangasinan were saddened by this unprecedented accusation, we remained steadfast on respect and high regard on the discretion of the President and relied completely on his promised re-validation,” he said.

Senator Leila De Lima, former Justice Undersecretary Francisco “Toti” Baraan III, driver Ronnie Palisoc Dayan and former General Franklin Bucayu were not included to those absolved by President Duterte on the “matrix”.
Meanwhile, Board Member Sison said he was also elated on the public apology of President Duterte as he was not expecting to announced in public.
He praised Duterte for being a true gentleman for accepting his mistake.
He also believed that a “high ranking” person was behind to destroy his name but he could not reveal yet his name as it is on the process of validation.
