‘Pusher’ killed while watching Sona

CALASIAO – A suspected narcotic pusher was assassinated here while he was watchingon television the State of the Nation Address (SONA) of President Rodrigo Duterte.
According to town Chief of Police Superintendent Fabiano B. Sudario Jr., Rechel H. Agpoon, 37, married, and a tricycle driver was shot last July 23 by killers riding in tandem.
“He was watching the SONA when he was shot,” he said.
President Duterte spoke last Monday at his first SONA at the Batasang Complex in Quezon City.
Duterte won the presidency last May 9 with a promise to wage a no-nonsense war against drug pushers all over the county.
He promised to eradicate the menace in three to six months upon assumption of office at noon of June 30.
A spot police report of Sudario said at around 6:25 pm of July 23, the victim was sitting in a makeshift waiting shed located along the intersection of Barangay Banaoang road and Jose de Venecia Highway in Dagupan City when the two suspects arrived.
“Then the back rider alighted and shot the victim at close range. The victim sustained two gunshot wounds on his head and was brought by the responding policemen to Pangasinan Provincial Hospital, San Carlos City where he was later pronounced Dead on Arrival (DOA) by the attending physician,” the report said.
Sudario said the killers, who were both clad in a jacket, fled towards an unknown direction. He said coordination with the nearby police stations had been set for the apprehension of the suspects.
Agpoon was listed as one of the drug personalities here.
The chief of police said the police here still stare at blank wall in finding the killers of Agpoon.
Meanwhile, another similar mode killing ensued at Barangay Gabon here when Richard A. Flores- alyas Guilabot or Negro was liquidated.
Police spot report cited Flores was married, a construction worker, and resident of Pandayan of the same village here.
“Investigation disclosed that at around 8:45 am of July 21, the victim and his two companions were sitting on the concrete bench in front of the residential house of Mr. Dennis Gaspar when the suspects arrived and shot the victim several times. Technical assistance of Scene of the Crime Operatives (SOCO) was sought to process the incident. They recovered seven empty shells of Caliber .45, two lead bullets, one deformed slug, two jackets and one fragment”
Sudario said that Flores was listed in the Top 8 drug personality here.
Spot report said Flores had surrendered to the police last July 4 with an undertaking to return his life to normalcy and do away with illegal drug activities.
