CALASIAO – Former Congressman Mark Cojuangco recently lauded Mayor Mark Roy Macanlalay for steering this town to progress.Cojuangco Macanlalay
Cojuangco and Macanlalay run for the governorship and vice governorship of Pangasinan.
“Isang inhenyero, isang bata, napakarami po ang kanyang idea sa pamamalakad ng kanyang bayan. Meron po siyang sariling diskarte meron po siyang desisyon,” the former solon said in a grand rally at capital town Lingayen.
He said the approachable and workaholic Macanlalay will be a good vice governor in case both of them win the May 9 election.
“Meron siyang lakas ng loob na kaya niyang gawing pamaraan kaya maganda po ang bayan ng Calasiao”.
Not contented with hosting several members of the Top 100 Corporations in the Philippines in this burgeoning town, the young mayor told this paper that he has a moist eye to host SM Mall run by the SM Prime Holdings.

After ushering the hosting of the Robinsons Land Corporation’s Robinson Mall at Barangay San Miguel here, Macanlalay said Pure Gold grocery store had been built facing Jollibee and Chowking’s restaurants.
The other new business edifices being built here at Barangay San Miguel are a 200 room’s hotel owned by the Guanzon family of neighboring Dagupan City, two big furniture home depots, and electronic shops.
During the mayoral stints of Macanlalay and his predecessor and father former Mayor Roy Macanlalay this town had been hosting mammoth corporations like Honda and Toyota Car Centers, big gas stations, Susuki, Laus Group of Companies, KIA, Amianan Motors, the new Philippine Gaming Corporation sanctioned Electronic Casino, and a call center at a huge state of the art edifice located at Barangay Bued.
The famous restaurant Dagupeña is located here, too.
Macanlalay said that people who have not been to this burgeoning town for some years now would have a jolt of their life because of the new infrastructures that sprouted like mushrooms.
Because of the unabated influx of businesses and shoppers here, Macanlalay said his administration in coordination with the Department of Public Works & Highway mull for an overpass bridge in front of Robinsons Mall.
The mayor, a licensed engineer and a Masters of Public Administration’s graduate, said his government had constructed the rooftop and wooden floor of the multi-million pesos Sports Complex here that could be leased for private activities, light-emitting diode (LED) powered street lights at MacArthur Highway, and a double A slaughter house.
