Tuloy na Poe!

When Grace Poe becomes president and Francis Escudero becomes vice president, Pangasinan will greatly benefit especially in big ticket infrastructure program.DSC_0482ADDRESSING FARMERS. Leading presidential candidate Senator Grace Poe addresses the farmers and residents of Villasis town.

These projects are aimed at pushing the province to economic greatness as they would boost tourism and agricultural development, the two main industries in Pangasinan.
The approved but shelved projects will push through in a Poe-Escudero Administration, and would pave the way to make Pangasinan a leading investment haven and could be the next Taiwan.
Recall that two big infrastructure projects that have been started  in the past– the international airpot in Alaminos City and the international seaport in Sual town – were neglected during the Aquino Administration.
But Pangasinenses are assured that these will be continued as leading independent candidate Grace Poe said her administration would prioritize these projects to speed up the province’s economic growth.
Pangasinan International Airport
She said the international airport must be developed to increase the number of tourists in the province, especially because Pangasinan has beautiful beaches and historical places.

Businessmen from the province support the establishment of the international airport to be built somewhere in central Pangasinan. The Alaminos airport will serve the domestic flights.
Alaminos City Mayor Arturo Celeste said he did not mind if an international airport would be built instead in central Pangasinan.
“What is important is for the province to have an international airport. Pangasinan is big enough to accommodate an international airport and a domestic one. Anyway, the property has been bought and is already owned by the national government, specifically the Department of Transportation and Communications,” he said.
He said the proposed airport in Alaminos could be used for domestic flights to cater to tourists who visit the world-renowned Hundred Islands National Park.
“What we won’t want to happen is for the proposed airport to be abandoned and for the paved access road to become a ‘white elephant,’” he added.
Poe said the international airport in Pangasinan can service Northern Luzon, especially with the planned bypass road connecting San Nicolas town to Nueva Vizcaya, and the Isabela-Pangasinan Road.
The airport will boost trade and tourism in the Ilocos Region and the Cordillera Region which are top sources of Overseas Filipino Workers.
Pangasinan International Seaport
Poe is also pushing for the establishment of an international seaport  in Pangasinan, most probably in Sual town which has natural harbors.

During a meeting with local officials from western Pangasinan, Poe said she would continue the construction of the seaport that was stopped during the Aquino Administration.
Sual Mayor Roberto Arcinue said it has been a dream of the Sual residents to have an international seaport in the town, and hoped that the municipal wharf, which is almost complete, would be upgraded into an international seaport, as promised by Poe.
The full operation of a seaport in Pangasinan would help decongest the ports of Manila and other ports in terms people and cargo bound to northern Luzon. Products from northern Luzon may be shipped via Pangasinan International Seaport.
Pangasinan-Nueva Viscaya Road
In a visit to San Nicolas, Poe said she favors the full construction of the historic Villa Verde Trail as part of the Pangasinan-Nueva Viscaya Road that will serve the socio-economic interests of Region 1 and Region 2.
People from region 1 have to go through Nueva Ecija in Region 3 just to get to provinces in Region 2 and vice versa.
The completion of the Villa Verde Trail will cut transport cost and time via San Nicolas, Pangasinan to Santa Fe, Nueva Viscaya.
Dagupan City Seawall
In a news conference in Dagupan City, Poe said a seawall would be constructed  along this city’s coastal areas as one of the answers to frequent flooding in the city.
The city is below sea level and gets flooded when there is high tide and continuous rainfall for a few days.
The seawall will complement the improvement of the city’s drainage system.
Irrigation development
A province-wide irrigation development that would make Pangasinan a surplus producer of agricultural products, is another priority project of the Poe-Escudero Administration.
Poe said full funding support to finish the San Roque Dam Re-regulating Pond would also be her priority. To assist other farmers in other congressional districts, the Poe Administration would construct several water impounding dams with irrigation systems.
And the best news for the farmers is that they will no longer pay irrigation fees.
Farm-to-market roads
The construction of farm-to-market roads will receive substantially higher budgetary allocation in relation to budget for roads and bridges projects of the Department of Public Works and Highways.
A Malacañan for Ilocos region
Poe said a regional office of Malacañan will be established in Pangasinan, to bring the presidency nearer to the Ilocos Region.
A daughter of Pangasinan
Senator Grace Poe has always acknowledged her roots in Pangasinan, calling the province her “home.”
This is because her father, the late movie actor Fernando Poe, Jr., hailed from San Carlos City.
