Abono, Cojuangco sponsor Farmers’ Day-Agri Expo in Bayambang

 BAYAMBANG- Farmers of this agricultural town were exposed to modern farming technologies during the Farmers’ Day held at the Pangasinan State University (PSU)-Bayambang Campus last March 19.LEADERS IN AGRI DEVELOPMENT. The agricultural exposition of farm machineries as well as lectures on modern farming were made possible through Abono Partylist led by Rep. Conrad M. Estrella III with National Chair Rosendo O. So and gubernatorial candidate Mark O. Cojuangco.
During the opening program, Estrella stressed the Abono Partylist’s commitment to improve the living conditions of farmers not only in the town but in the whole province.
 “The collective objective to improve your lives gives us the strength everyday to fight all forms of oppression against our farmers. Remember that Abono Partylist will not stop to provide help and assistance to the province’s farmers,” Estrella said.
 Abono Partylist National Chair Rosendo O. So talked on the gains of farmers in the province through its programs and projects implemented in the past years.
 “We have improved our corn and palay production in the province through our various programs like the Maisan sa Barangay and the Accelerated Certified Palay Production. Aside from these, we have been continuously providing farm inputs at discounted prices and on credit to improve your farm production,” So said, even as he briefed the farmers on the anti-smuggling law on agricultural products particularly meat, rice and vegetables, which is now for the signature of President Benigno S. Aquino III.
Gubernatorial aspirant Cojuangco promised he will worked for a more progressive Pangasinan should he win the gubernatorial post.
 “Under my development programs, agriculture should be given prime importance, Pangasinan being a predominantly agricultural area. Let’s develop our agriculture by not only providing farm inputs like seeds, fertilizers,credit, etc. but also to use mechanized farming systems including the provision of post harvest facilities,” Cojuangco said.
Cojuangco is a prime mover of agricultural development in the 5th District where he worked for construction of  farm to market roads, post drying facilities for corn and palay in Villasis and Alcala and other agricultural projects during his stint as representative of the District from 2001 to 2010.
 The event was also attended by mayoral candidate Cesar Quiambao, senatorial candidate Roman Romulo and 3rd District Board Member candidate Vici Ventanilla.
