Mayor Belen lauds DCWD’s works, accomplishments
DAGUPAN CITY – Mayor Belen T. Fernandez was all-praise to the Dagupan City Water District (DCWD) under the chairmanships of lawyer Gonzalo T. Duque for its works and accomplishments that led to its improved services for its clientele.
Fernandez was guest of honor and speaker during the groundbreaking ceremony on March 11 of the new two-storey motor pool building at the DCWD compound in Barangay Tambac.
She was joined by Duque, Vice-Chairman lawyer Liberato “Ope” Reyna Jr., Members of the Board Reveriana E. Guadiz and Engineer Robert Condrad A. Matias and General Manager Engineer Adelfo B. Valle.
“I congratulate the Board and the management of the DCWD for demonstrating good governance practices by consistently seeking ways to improve public services and relentlessly finding ways on how to optimize the limited resources and spending it efficiently. In less than two years, there had been a big change in your services,” said Fernandez.
“From all indications there is a wise investment on water district’s operations. Capital investments are directed toward improving your facilities. Since we re-organized DCWD, we know fully well the direction we are going to as there’s no other way but to grow,” Fernandez added.
From category C, DCWD is now a category B water district since March 16, 2015 in accordance with the Revised Local Water District Manual on Categorization, Re-Categorization of 2011.
Consistent with its commitment to improve the service it provides to water consumers and the general public, Valle recently ordered the creation of a public assistance and complaints quick response team in compliance with the provisions of Republic Act No. 9485 or the Anti-Red Tape Act of 2007.
Duque, on the other hand, disclosed that soon the consumers and the general public will see more changes in the DCWD’s operations as he intends to professionalize the water district’s services to the people.
He said on March 18, DCWD will groundbreak its pumping station on Herrero-Perez while on April 1 they will also break the ground for the extension of water services to Barangay Pugaro. (Joseph C. Bacani/CIO)
