So: Poe still a presidential candidate
By Virgilio Sar. Maganes
ROSALES- A strong and staunch supporter of the presidential bid of Senator Grace Poe said despite the ruling of the 1st and 2nd Division of the Commission on Election (Comelec) cancelling Poe’s certificate of candidacy (COC), she is still a candidate until such time the Supreme Court will rule with finality.
Abono Partylist Chair Rosendo O. So, also a convener of Ang Grasya ng Masang Pilipino (AGMP), is confident that Senator Grace Poe could overcome all the disqualification cases filed against her as there are still two institutions that will hear the cases- Comelec en banc and the Supreme Court.
” This will be a long process but the legal group of Senator Poe are doing all the legal remedies to overturn the earlier rulings of the two divisions of Comelec. She is still a presidential candidate and we will rally behind her presidential aspirations,” So said.
He said the latest decision of the 1st Division of Comelec with Commissioner Christian Lim dissenting on the ruling of his two peers, was a welcome move that may overturn the rulings in favor of Senator Poe once the cases will be heard by Comelec en banc.
” With all the cases filed against her, Senator Poe is unfazed and has shown her level-headedness. We could sense she’s being hurt on these decisions, but she kept on saying that the fight will continue. Her gestures inspire us more to pursue our support for her,” So said.
So said Poe continue to have consultations with the various sectors in the country particularly among the youth and to talk about her developmental advocacies.
Recall that Poe’s COC was cancelled by the 2nd Division of Comelec last December 1, saying she lacked the ten year minimum residency as required by the Constitution basing on her 2013 COC when she ran as Senator.
The 2nd Division of Comelec decided on the same merit and ruling.
