By Virgilio Sar. Maganes
SAN MANUEL- Gubernatorial aspirant Mark O. Cojuangco said Christmas is the celebration of Jesus Christ’s love and to follow that example by loving each other.
Cojuangco was the special guest of this town’s opening of the Lantern Festival and Christmas Lighting Ceremony held at the town plaza last November 27, which was attended by municipal and village officials, teachers and village residents.
“What is important during Christmas season are not material things but the friendships we have nurtured through these years. Let’s value and give importance to love for our fellowmen,” Cojuangco said.
Cojuangco lauded Mayor Alain Jerico Perez for the annual event that started when he assumed the mayorship of the town.
” The lanterns are not yet lighted. I can imagine the beauty of the town plaza when all these are simultaneously lighted that will bring joy to everyone. I congratulate all of you who contributed their efforts to make this come true especially Mayor Perez who started this event. This shows your cooperation and oneness,” he said.
The event was also attended by 6th District Board Member aspirants Salvador “Dong” Perez Jr. and Joselito Peralta of Balungao.
Cojuangco urged the audience to help the two in their aspirations to become provincial board members of 6th District in May 2016 election.
