POZORRUBIO- Instead of rubbing elbows with world and national leaders during the Asia Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) Summit in Metro Manila last November 17 to November 18, 5th District Representative Kimi Cojuangco opted to visit villages in her district.

Her visits were to spend time with the villagers to see their conditions and effect solutions to problems besetting them.
“This is not the only time I have been doing this. These are my regular activities after the recess periods at the House of Representatives and meeting my constituents provides me information on what to prioritize and focus on,” she said.
Kimi said the absence of the Priority Development Assistance Fund (PDAF) for representatives will not make her to be complacent and sit on the needs of her constituents in the 5th District.
” National agencies are unable to visit and assess the actual needs of the people. It is incumbent for representatives like me to see the conditions of her constituents to the extent of lobbying funds for projects and inspecting infrastructure projects implemented by them. This is now the normal process I am doing since PDAF was abolished,” she said.
She said government agencies such as the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH), National Irrigation Authority (NIA), Department of Education (DepEd), Department of Health (DOH) and other agencies do not always have the chance to assess specific problems in each village in the District.
“I have to visit the villages to assess their problems and find appropriate solutions. Then I will approach the proper agencies and ensure that solutions are implemented,” she said.
During her village visits in Rosario, Alipangpang, Buneg and Villegas in this town last November 18, she was accompanied by vice gubernatorial aspirant Mark Roy Macanlalay, Board Member Clemente Arboleda, Jr., Board Member aspirant Chinky Perez, Mayor Art Chan, Vice Mayor Kelvin Chan and members of the Sangguniang Bayan.
In her visits to villages in Binalonan town last November 17, she was accompanied by Board Member Clemente Arboleda, Jr, vice gubernatorial aspirant Mark Roy Macanlalay of Calasiao and Binalonan Mayor Ramon “Monmon” Guico, III.
