Mark to Scouts: Be responsible citizens

SAN CARLOS CITY- Pangasinan gubernatorial aspirant called the camporal in San Carlos city as a good venue for character building of the youth, for them to be good and responsible citizens in our communities.
Cojuangco was the guest of honor and speaker during the opening program of the four-day division camporal of boys scouts and girl scouts at the Bacnar National High School here last November 12.
He said he was more than happy to see young people who grouping and enjoying together, which he said reminded him of his younger days.
He recited the Boy/Girl Scout Oath and Law: “On my honor, I will do my best. To do my duty to God and my country and to obey the Scout Law; to help other people at all times; To keep myself physically strong, mentally awake and morally straight. A Scout is trustworthy, loyal, helpful, friendly, courteous, kind, obedient, cheerful, thrifty, brave, clean and reverent.”
“When you hear this, this embodies the story of a successful person. If you can do all these things, you will be successful and good persons. The four-day camporal is an opportunity for you to bond together as friends. Make use of it,” he said, urging them to practice in their lives the Scout Oath and Law.
Cojuangco also lauded the city officials, parents, teachers, scout masters and the village officials for investing in that kind of activity, which is geared towards character development and building of the youth.
He also reiterated the Scout’s slogan “ Laging Handa” (Be Prepared) as their guide in their lives.
“ Like you I am always prepared and with this I am donating P40,000 to your activities,” he said eliciting cheers from the crowd.
He also took time to introduce 3rd District’s Board Member aspirant Vici Ventanilla and vice gubernatorial aspirant Mark Roy Macanlalay who he said are young leaders to help him steer the affairs of the province should he be given the mandate as governor in 2016.
