Senior citizens of Madella, Quirino visit Villasis

VILLASIS- This 1st class agricultural town of 5th District in Pangasinan is fast becoming a destination for Lakbay Aral groups from other towns and provinces in the country.s
The groups came not only to learn best practices in local governance but also to feel the hospitality of the local administrators and its people.
Just recently, 34 senior citizens of Madella, Quirino Province from its 32 local chapters visited the town.
They were welcomed by this town’s counterpart headed by Cesar Mina, President of Federation of Senior Citizens Association of the Philippines (FSCAP), Villasis Chapter, Dr. Belinda S. barroom, head of the Office of the Senior Citizens’Affairs (OSCA), Lilibeth M. Abrenica, Municipal Social Welfare and Development Officer and her staff.
Before they were toured, the group paid a courtesy call to Mayor Libradita Go-Abrenica who thanked them for selecting the town as their Lakbay Aral destination.
The senior citizens group was briefed on the following best practices of the town for senior citizens: monthly socialization, search for the most outstanding senior citizens association, gamutan sa barangay and free medical missions.
After the briefing, they were toured in various landmarks of the town and economic activities like the Senior Citizens Center, Villasis Wholesale Market (Bagsakan), Villasis Covered Auditorium, Tupig Vendors’ Stands, Villasis Livelihood Training Center, VillasisNursery, Villasis Palay Drying Facility and selected barangay senior citizens centers.
The group from Madella was led by FSCAP President Carlos Ramos and OSCA head Avelina G. Valdez
