Mark to senior citizens: You deserve respect and care

By Virgilio Sar. Maganes

ALAMINOS CITY- Former 5th District Rep. Mark O. Cojuangco said senior citizens should be given attention, respect and care for what they have contributed in the society during their younger days.
Speaking before the members of the Federation of Senior Citizens Association (FSCA) in this city last October 9 and in Calasiao on October 7, Cojuangco appreciated the contributions of the senior citizens in community building.
“Our generation owed a lot from you. It is you who paved the way to where we are now. It is only proper to repay you, for your hard work and sacrifices,” he said.
Cojuangco said he now realized his parents’ role in molding him to be a better person who has only wishes to help other people particularly the needy.
“My father is already 87 years old- Danding Cojuangco whom you supported for President in 1992 elections and my mother is already 76 years old. It is now my turn to repay them, of their good deeds of giving me good upbringing. I am now 57 years old and three years more I will already be like you as senior citizen,” Cojuangco said.
he further said if given to be elected as the alternative Governor in 2016, he will give importance to the needs of the senior citizens in the province.

CORTEZ: How the price of rice will fall

brando-maso

PLATE POOL FOR LTO.

Tapos dagdagan pa natin ng sales ng brand new cars and other  four-wheeled vehicles per year.

Three letters four digits. Tatlong letra apat na numero. Example po ng plaka ay BJC 0810. Black and yellow ang color combination ng new vehicle plates.

PLATEFUL OF RICE.

From palay to bigas and from bigas to palay using a multiplication factor.

Over the last three (3) months, 14 station commanders mula sa 38 police stations sa NCR ay napalitan na.

Itong 1.66 ay derived from the division of 83 kilograms of palay by 50 kilograms. Ohaaa!

PARCCOM holds 6th national convention in Pangasinan

By Brando Cortez

BINALONAN-The Presidential Agrarian Reform Council (PARC) held its 6thNational PARCCOM Convention here from October 7 to 10 to find ways and means to support stakeholders in the implementation of the Comprehensive Agrarian Reform Program or Republic Act No. 6657 as started out by President Corazon C. Aquino and the CARPer Law or Republic Act No. 9700.

Director Teresita L. Panlilio, officer-in-charge of the PARC said that their dual role is to find ways and means to support farmer-beneficiaries and landowners involved in the implementation of CARP in line with the push for agricultural development of President Benigno Aquino II.

She said that much as the government desires to fast track the completion of CARP as directed by President Aquino, court cases on land conversion and reclassification have negatively affected the pace of the implementation of the program in terms of giving land to the landless farmers.

“PARC is mandated to support farmer-beneficiaries in all stages of the implementation of the comprehensive agrarian reform program,” Panlilio said. “However, the transfer of lands to the farmers has been delayed due to legal hurdles. We will not stop until the farmers get what is due them.”

Panlilio said that another objective of the Comprehensive Agrarian Reform Program is for landowners to be catalysts in rural industrialization.

ORTIGOZA: DPWH Boss Chooses Post that Gives Less Money

mortz-nw-colored32
Just barely warming her seat for two and half months after replacing District Engineer  (DE) Elpidio “Pidyong” Paragas of the 2nd Engineering Office of the Department of Public Works & Highway in Pangasinan, DE Yolly Tangco was whisked recently to DPWH’s Quezon City as acting assistant regional director  for Region IV-A or Calabarzon. She said her watch covers the Cavite, Laguna , Rizal, Batangas, and Quezon Provinces.

Tangco  was replaced by my friend Engineer Rodolfo “Boy” Dion, a Capri ciggie chomping chap and a bicycle enthusiast, who was the former DE of Ilocos Sur.

“Saan ang mas marami ang pera, O.I.C or acting Assistant Regional Director o District Engineer?” I asked a high DPWH official.
He said Tangco, in case she stays on her post in Lingayen, Pangasinan, could rake tens of millions of pesos as D.E  from willing private contractors and politicians than being an assistant regional director.
I told the brass that I doff my hat to Tangco, she’s a fine woman and eloquent speaker (she speaks good English), who chooses a career advancement than accumulating more wealth just like those corrupt district dngineers that I know.
***
Oh by the way, hard hitting broadcaster-on-leave Harold Barcelona told me what would happen to those DPWH personnel who were hurling brick bats at the back of Dion when they were ingratiating themselves to Paragas when he replaced last year Dion as D.E of the Pangasinan’s DPWH. He, he, he ayusin niyo si Whispering Harold at iyong dalawang media men noong pinag-sisira-an niyo si Boy Dion sa harap ni Paragas noong nilipat siya (Boy) sa Ilocos.

Saka mali ata ang info mo Harold, sabi mo matatangal si Pangasinan 1st Engineering Office DE Smile Fermin sa Alaminos City because of alleged questions sa mga projects doon and some powers- that- be there are not happy with him anymore.
***
The last time I dropped by at the office of Lingayen Mayor Josefina ”Iday” Castaneda was in the late month of year 2013.
I asked her how much was the town’s budget for 2015 since next year’s appropriation had been approved by the council.
