MAGANES: Grace Poe- ungrateful to Erap and Binay

To us Filipinos and as our cultural trait dictates, “utang na loob” (debt of gratitude) is very important in building friendships and goodwill. It may not be totally a good trait as this is being frowned upon by westerners, giving a gesture of gratitude to those who helped us and who will help us in the future, although not being asked or expected, will build stronger ties and relationships. Casiῇo bats for genuine agrarian reform

By Virgilio Sar. Maganes
BAYAMBANG- Bayan Muna Rep. and senatorial candidate Teddy Casiῆo said nless a genuine agrarian reform will be implemented by the government, farmers will be living in poverty.
Casiῆo was here last April 11 as part of his campaign sorties in the vote-rich province of Pangasinan and visited the towns of Malasiqui, Sta. Barbara, Mapandan, Manaoag, Mangaldan and Dagupan City.
(more…)

Biazon should commit hara kiri

I could not fathom why some sectors wanted take-no-prisoners former PNP chief and exiting Senator Ping Lacson to be the oil-czar of the Bureau of Custom.
Why not appoint him instead to the BOC’s top position so we can get rid of lousy Custom Commissioner Ruffy Biazon who brought his office to the dogs?
Biazon, for the sake of delicadeza, should have resigned or committed seppuko ( a form of Japanese ritual suicide by disembowelment or cutting the stomach with a samurai) after he plunged his office with a P60 billion deficit from a tax goal of P347 billion last year. (Seppuko is also known as hara kiri-Editor.)
With Ramon Ang of Petron and Rosendo So of Abono Party-List and Swine Development Council exposed to the public that the government loses P32 billion and P30 billion in petroleum and farm products (rice, pork, poultry), respectively, Biazon should be scampering already by packing his things and leavinghis office in Intramuros.
Biazon, a Medical Technology graduate, have the gall to go to the TV and lashed out at his critics whom he accused of bad mouthing him because they have agenda.
I started to believe the rumors that Malacanang needs him at the custom office so he can raise tens if not hundred of millions of pesos to fund the campaign of the Liberal Party all over the country.
If illegal number games jueteng proliferates nationwide because powers-that- be sanctioned it for tens of millions of payola a month, it is possible that spate of smugglings at the expense of our farmers and poultry raisers continues because of the millions of pesos protection money people upstairs receive.
