PWD from SM Rosales goes to Bangkok

ROSALES-A person with disability came back to the Philippine with renewed sense of self-worth after representing the country in a United Nations sponsored workshop.

“I did not expect that my disability which I considered as a burden years ago will be my passport to set foot to another country,” said Donald Carpo when he arrived in the Philippines from attending the United Nations sponsored Workshop on Disability Inclusive Agribusiness Development from February 21 to 23 in Bangkok Thailand.

With his foot that looks like it has been rotated internally at the ankle which is referred as clubfoot, Carpo has orthopaedic impairment always faces his job with eagerness.

He works as maintenance personnel in SM City Rosales and is one of the volunteers who engage in farm work on a piece of land allocated by the mall management for the production of fruits and vegetables.

He said his farm activities consist of weeding out the grass, watering the plants, applying fertilizers and eliminating fruits and vegetables pest.

CORTEZ: Probinsiyang walang demokrasya


BANI MAYOR CEL NAVARRO, Bilang isa sa mga excellent na sundalo na pumalaot sa mundo ng public service may ikukuwento po ako sa inyo at itatanong ko na rin po kung ano ang reaksiyon niyo ditto.

Alam niyo po ba MAYOR NAVARRO na may isang probinsiya dito sa Pilipinas na wala daw demokrasya.

May isang kandidato for vice governor ang naglabas ng kanyang saloobin tungkol sa nagaganap sa kanyang probinsiya.

May mga mayor daw na humihingi ng pasensiya sa kanya dahil may order daw nula sa mga nakakataas sa kanila na huwag bigyan ng pagkakataon ang grupo ng kandidatong vice governor na makapagsalita sa kani-kanilang mga fiesta.

May demokrasya ba sa kanilang probinsiya?

Ang isang indicator daw na ay demokrasya sa isang bayan ay ang free, honest elections.

Free to choose…Honest ang choice.

Bawat boto daw po ay mahalaga sa isang demokrasya…Paano kung walang choice dahil hindi nabigyan ng pagkakataon ang mga challengers?…may demokrasya ba?

MAYOR NAVARRO, kumusta na po pala si Lean Braganza ng Alaminos? May demokrasya po ba isang probinsiya kung hindi nabibigyan ng pagkakataon ang mga kandidato na ihayag ang kanilang sarili at mga program of government sa mga botante?

Dahil hindi nabibigyan ng pagkakataon ang mga kandidato na maipakilala ang kanilang sarili sa mga botante, may pagpipilian pa ba sila? Free to choose ba iyon?

Dahil hindi nabibigyan ng pagkakataon ang mga kandidato na maipakilala ang kanilang sarili sa mga botante, may pagpipilian pa ba sila? Magiging honest ba ang choice ng mga botante?

Mr. kandidatong vice governor, sir, dati naman po kayong intelligence officer…pakibulong naman po sa akin kun sino ang nagbigay ng command na huwag kayong imbitahan sa mga fiesta. Hahaha. (more…)

EDITORIAL: How rice smugglers robbed each farmer P22,400

Katumbas ng magnanakaw ang rice smugglers.

Region 1 Confederation of Irrigators Associations President Oftociano Manalo Jr said rice smuggling is the culprit for the sudden fall for the price of palay this harvest season.

Abono Party-list has banded together 25 major stakeholders in the agriculture sector calling for a stop to smuggling of agricultural products.

The Join Foreign Chambers of Commerce expose the presence of a $20 billion smuggling hole in the Philippines that is needed to be plugged by the government. (more…)
