ORTIGOZA: Arrogant PhilHealth personnel

February 27, 2013 at 9:59 pm 1 comment

A perennial loser in countless electoral exercises in the fourth congressional district told me before that if he wins as provincial board member he will pocket some of the almost P900 thousand social funds given to a board member every quarter of the year.
Not only that, he said he will get a percentage too, every time a supplemental budget is deliberated in the Sangguniang Panlalawigan.
Son of a gun, this is the reason why this country could not be at par with our rich Asian neighbour countries.
Kahit ang laos na kandidato, nagpa-plano na kung paano nanakawin ang pera ng kaban ng bayan.
Mas mabuti pa si perennial candidate to the provincial board Ed Gonzales, a wannabe media man.
When he threatened me that he will not allow me to enter his office at the Capitol in case he wins this May election because of my belittling his capability to win a board seat, and my rebuff that he was just wasting his time (he got no money) ingratiating with voters in the 3rd congressional district to vote for him, I just took it with grain of salt. Ed was just smarting on me.
But that bet in the 4th congressional distinct should be vigorously denounced. He is a clear and present danger to our society.
Officials of the Department of Public, Works & Highway in charged of the construction of the Villamil Bridge in Calasiao, Pangasinan are bunch of idiots.
DPWH central office ordered them to tear the wall they approved for a private contractor to build that almost cover the façade of the houses that overlook the public market.
The houses are built on the river bank near the bridge.
Protestor Domingo Ayudante, Jr.” told the personnel of the DPWH based in Sta. Barbara , Pangasinan ( that came to his office) that they are stupid because of their stupid project that covers his “mansion.”
Ayudante wrote Secreatry Alcala about the under siege project. The concrete wall he said has no connection whatsoever to the bridge that is being constructed in a turtle pace.
“They just want to get hefty commission from the private contractor.”
Even Vice Mayor Roy Macanlalay of Calasiao told me that the wall would be torn off.
” Mr. Gorbachev, tear down this wall!”I mimicked former President Ronald Reagan in Berlin, Germany in the Cold War after Vice Mayor told me about the tearing off.
Can you imagine the government monies that were lost because of this shenanigan? These DPWH personnel should be sacked from the service.
Talking about sacking, when I dropped by recently at the regional office of the DPWH in San Fernando, La Union a source there told me that my column exposing a stolen government property being peddled by personnel at the district office cost the position of a district engineer – the boss in that office.
He was investigated by the NBI after a complainant filed a complaint here using my column as one of the evidences.
The last time I criticized PhilHealth Region 1 was when it got into a nasty incident when its drunken regional manager started to punch the waiters and their supervisor at Leisure Coast Hotel & Restaurant at Brgy. Bonuan Binloc, Dagupan City.
Now I have another beef with the government-owned insurance company and I hope its Manager Daniel de Leon and even Health Secretary Enrique Ona take cognizance of it since it could undermine the office.
Take for instance its PR personnel named Irene and Jojo Mones.
Media men and publisher felt a run-a-round with Irene after she texted them that they can pick up at her office a paid publication. Whenever they went there to heed her call she would tell them that it was given already to other publications.
After the marathoners that include media men in the PhilHealth-DOH Run 2013 converged in the morning at the Dagupan City Plaza last February 17, 2012, I experienced arrogance and indifference of a government servant.
I asked a woman personnel (she knows me as media man) if I could have a juice or water that were ”stocked” near her that Andrew, her colleague, told me to go and get for myself. She instead told me she would ask her coordinator if I could have one.
When I asked the one manning the stuff, one Joseph Mones, if I could have one bottle of water or juice he just looked at me indifferently.
After standing besides him for three minutes I asked his name.
“Bakit niyo tinatanong?” he asked arrogantly.
“Isusumbong kita kay Mr. De Leon,” I told him.
“E di mag sumbong ka!” he raised his voice.
Mukhang galit sa media itong si Jojo, Secretary Ona and Mr. de Leon?
Oh by the way Mr. de Leon, one of the clamors (I’ll published some later) at your office received by the letter-section of this paper’s blog came from Maricel Marquez which is still posted under my article “PhilHealth expects complaints on premiums hike”: “My comment regarding sa claims naming. Mag three months yung claims namin laging on process. Nag expect kami by 1st week nang Feb, mapadala yung cheke. The usual delayed sila sa pag proseso. Ang akala namin maayos na yung system pero bakit ang bagal. Sana naman hindi ganito katagal yung process. Ang expected namin 60 days but mag 90 days na ang claims wala. Please lang pakibilisan ang trabaho. Salamat ”
Ayusin niyo ang trabaho niyo diyan sa PhilHealth. In one of the sorties of gubernatorial bet Hernani Braganza he gave a dig at your office and the elective officials you are ‘cavorting” with your distribution of the PhilHealth Cards na hindi daw PhilHealth iyong binibigay niyo sa mga indigents kundi Pili-Health Card.
