DAGUPAN CITY- Amid speculations that the Braganza-Lomibao team cannot muster campaign throughout the province, Liberal Party (LP) gubernatorial bet Hernani A. Braganza said that his team has already covered around 95% of Pangasinan, with around seven months to go before the campaign period starts on March 29, 2013.

Braganza said during the consolidation of LP forces in the province, they had visited many towns where they recruited candidates at the local levels from mayors to councilors. ” There is still enough time before the campaign period starts.”

Braganza filed his certificate of candidacy (CoC) for governor at the Commission on Elections (Comelec) Provincial Office accompanied with countless supporters including party members who also filed their CoCs for board members. Former police general Arturo Lomibao also filed his CoC for vice governor as teammate of Braganza.

He said his decision to run for governor was a collective effort of the LP with the blessings of President Aquino and party President Mar Roxas.

“We are here to offer a maka-Pangasinan at hindi maka-sarili na liderato sa lalawigan ng Pangasinan. We will assure you that this is a friendly fight and we have to abide with a honest, orderly elections,” he said.

Lomibao also said his running for the vice gubernatorial position is anchored on his belief on Braganza’s kind of leadership.

“Naniniwala ako na maibibigay ni Nani ang liderato na matuwid para sa Pangasinan. We will assure you that we will give the leadership you’ve been longing and aspiring for,” Lomibao said.

Meanwhile, former Governor Victor E. Agbayani ended speculations that he was offered a post by President Aquino.

“It has been a talk since the last election but there was no offer yet as of this time. Any position has to be offered first to me. I just could not ask for any position, if any,” Agbayani said.

He also said he did not opt to run for any political office this election because he will be the campaign manager of the Braganza-Lomibao team.

“I want to concentrate on the campaign to assure that this team will win. When I said team, that includes the board members, mayors and all candidates of the Liberal Party,” Agbayani clarified.
