What do you do if your distinguished guest does not want to have lunch with me?

First, I will ask myself why?

Of course there will be a lot of answers.

Second, what will I do with the food that I prepared for my distinguished guest?

Since the Palarong Pambansa is being held in Pangasinan, I will just select all the poor athletes from Luzon, Visayas and Mindanao to partake of the food I prepared for the distinguished guest.

At least the poor athletes can say that they were fed with food meant for the distinguished guest when they go home to their provinces.

The increase in the cost of living in Luzon, Visayas and Mindanao is responsible for the increases in people who are poor and hungry.

In Luzon, the cost of living rose from P10,000 to P12,000; in the Visayas from P6,000 to P8,000 and in Mindanao from P6,000 to P7,000.

This means that the head of the family of the poor athletes from Luzon who earned P10,000 a month last year now needs P12,000 to buy the same things they usually bought last year.

This also means that the head of the family of the poor athletes from Visayas who earned P6,000 a month last year now needs P8,000 a month to buy the same things they usually bought last year.

This also means that the head of the family of the poor athletes from Mindanao who earned P6,000 a month last year now needs P7,000 a month to buy the same things they usually bought last year.

The poor athletes from all over the Philippines will thank the Palarong Pambansa for this unforgettable lunch meant for the distinguished guest.

A lunch with the distinguished guest could have led to better relations between the host and the distinguished guest in working for the good of the people of Pangasinan.

A lunch with the distinguished guest could have led to a better understanding of each other’s development agenda for Pangasinan.
