DAGUPAN CITY -There was a lot of excitement when former Dagupan City mayor Benjie S. Lim filed his certificate of candidacy during the last hour of the deadline for filing of candidacies for the national and local elections in May.

He said that in the interest of people of Dagupan City , he has decided to go back to city hall due to the strong clamor of the Dagupeños.

“If the Lord is willing and with the help of the people of Dagupan City , we are giving the city hall back to the people.”

Lim said that he will work for the future of the people of Dagupan and will not use anybody as an excuse for any failure to implement programs and projects designed to improve the lives of the people of Dagupan.

“When we get back city hall, I will not waste my time and your time in blaming the former administration for anything,” he said.

He said that unity among officials is paramount and he is confident that the people elected officials to city hall to work hand in hand for the progress of Dagupan

For the frequently asked question, ‘If elected mayor, can you handle the city council which may be headed by Vice Mayor Belen Fernandez?’

“The vice mayor and the city council does not need to be handled because they are all elected officials by the people, we are all elected officials,” Lim said. “We may be business rivals but if the people vote for us, then we have to work together as elected officials.”

Benjie Lim is an a-one businessman who once ably represented the 4th district of Pangasinan in the House of Representatives.

He was also a former Mayor of Dagupan City who made great strides in keeping peace and order in the city as it embarked on a new roadmap to development.

Because of his accomplishments both in the House of Representatives and as mayor of Dagupan City , many people are clamoring for him to get back into city hall.

The fast expansion of his business all over region 1 is a testament to his ability to lead in times of economic difficulties.

This time, Lim has once again chosen to heed the clamor of Dagupeños serve the people of Dagupan than to stir his business to greater heights.

And for whatever the result of the election, Lim has this to say, “Let the people of Dagupan decide…We will give the city hall back to Dagupeños.”
