DAGUPAN CITY – Congressional bet Gina de Venecia of the 4th district of Pangasinan claimed she just ignores the politics of hatred resorted by the camp of her rival for the congressional seat.

“Hindi na natin iyan pinapansin. Ang importante politics of performance.

De Venecia is pitted with mall owner Celia Lim whose husband Benjamin was defeated by former Speaker Jose de Venecia in the 2007 congressional derby.

Since last year, de Venecia and her volunteers are going around the district with her daily medical and dental missions that were complemented by the distribution of eye glasses to those with sight problems.

She served as a witness during the “Kasalanan ed San Fabian,” a mass wedding officiated by Mayor Mojamito Libunao for 435 couples.

She hoped that the dream of the newly wed couples would be realized, adding that the wife should understand and help her partner especially if he loses his job.

“Life is full of upside and downside,” she stressed.

“Tulungan ninyo ang asawa ninyo. Huwag kukulitin. Magmahalan kayo,’ she extolled the newly wedded couples, many of whom were living as common law spouses for years.
