Abono received an appeal from the present cargo handling firms that service the Subic Freeport Zone, mentioning the great disadvantages of the joint venture agreement between the Subic Bay Metropolitan Authority (SBMA) and the Harbour Centre Port Terminal, Inc.

Once overlooked, ‘ Republic of Labrador ’ now envied

By Mortz C. Ortigoza

LABRADOR – This town was called “Republic” because non-residents overlooked it because of its miniscule size.

Mayor Ernesto Acain said the town got this moniker because it was not dependent on political leaders owho looked down on the small town and small number of voters.

Perspectives: Remulla defends Villars against plunder case

By Mortz C. Ortigoza

I was jolted from my seat when I saw on prime time TV that another decrepit 30 year-old OV-10 twin-engine airplane of our air force spun and exploded somewhere at Capas, Tarlac.

It was just last month that I saw through the window of my taxiing Airbus Philippine Airlines another decrepit Australian-made but condemned twin-engine Nomad Philippine air force plane that was parked alone at the tarmac of the air force base in Davao City .

What so special about this sight was I used to jog with my father on the tarmac when he was assigned there in the early 1980 (I was in high school then).
