Abono supports 3 Pangasinense senatorial candidates

ROSALES- Abono Party-list Chair Rosendo O. So said the Pangasinenses support senatorial candidates who are from the province of Pangasinan – Joey De Venecia of Pwersa ng Mamamayang Pilipino, Raul Lambino and Ramon Guico, both of Lakas-CMD-Kampi.

So said that being province mates, Abono Partylist will be in all out support to their senatorial candidacies that if they will win, it will be the first time that the province will be having three sitting senators in Senate House.

Along with the three Pangasinense senatorial candidates, So said that Abono will also support the candidacy of Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos of KBL from Ilocos Norte, Rodolfo “Ompong” Plaza, NPC of Agusan Del Sur, Tito Sotto, NPC of Metro Manila, Silvestre “Bebot” Bello III, Lakas-CMD-Kampi of Cagayan-Isabela and Gilbert Remulla, Nacionalista Party of Cavite .

“Although they are not yet faring well in the senatorial surveys, we will support them because of their proven leadership and their advocacies for farmers welfare and agricultural development in the country,” So said.

He further said that should these senatorial candidates win in May 10, 2010 elections, Abono will be having allies in pursuing vital programs and advocacies of the party.

Among the pending legislative measures espoused by Abono Representatives Robert Raymund “Eskimo” Estrella and Francisco “Pacoy” Ortega is the support discount on crude and gasoline for farmers.

He said that if jeepney and bus operators are having diesel and gasoline discounts, why not for the farmers who are hard up in the rising cost of fuel for their farm operations.

When asked on his comments on the El Niño effect which is now experienced by many provinces in the country, So said the Abono has already coordinated with Agriculture Secretary Arthur Yap for the funding of water pumps to be distributed to farmers.

“Inland water shall be tapped to irrigate farmlands because irrigation facilities will be drained , ” he said.

On electrical power outages which will be likely experienced during this summer, So said that it is now the time to re-commission the Bataan Nuclear Plant.

He said that Rep. Eskimo Estrella and 5th District Rep. Mark Cojuangco have already visited similar nuclear plants in South Korea and found them to be safe.
