Mrs. Norma Montoya vda. de Rosario and her family received the Model Family Award during the Pawil Sta. Barbara celebration of the town.

Mrs. Rosario and her late husband Juan Rosario raised their eight children in the best possible way that they can despite meager financial resources.

Realizing the hardships of their parents, the eight siblings labored hard to become the best that they can be.

The eldest, Edita Rosario-Macaraig, a nursing graduate is now based in USA . The second is Ofelia Rosario-Villegas, an accountancy graduate. The third is DMNHS Class ’77 valedictorian, Amorsolo Rosario, a fifth placer in the 1982 CPA Board Examinations and presently, the Senior Vice President of Nestle Philippines .

The fourth is Engr. Rustom Rosario, a mechanical engineer now based in Riyadh , Saudi Arabia . The fifth, DMNHS Class ’82 valedictorian Atty. Liza Rosario-Magaway is an entrepreneur and the President of Oillink, an oil company. The sixth, Mildred Rosario-Ortigoza is a BS Biology and Nursing graduate, formerly, a Clinical Nursing Instructor and now an entrepreneur. Another engineer in the family is Alexander Rosario, a 13th placer in the 1993 Electrical Board Examinations. The youngest is Eva Rosario-Bauzon, the valedictorian of Sta. Barbara Central School Class ’84 who took up Nursing and now based in New York .

Once again, the Rosario Family has proven that there is no mountain high enough for the persistent climber. Truly, theirs is a family that other families can look up to and emulate.

Also recognized during the affair was William Pfluger for community service.. Pfluger, an American, is a retired executive from Chevron. He is married to Sta. Barbaran, Nanette T. Erfe, the eldest daughtnr of Ernesto and Rose Erfe. Despite being an America , he dearly loved the Filipinos.

What the couple William and Nanette earned during their wedding were all donated to the Charity House of Mother Theresa in Lucao District, Dagupan City and to the Holy Family Parish.

Lately, the couple donated two housing units in Gawad Kalinga (GK) Maticmatic and another unit in GK- Larioville.

The 2009 Pawil Sta. Barbara town fiesta celebration ended on December 5 with a festivity of all Christians dubbed as “Pistay Kristiyano.” This evening affair featured presentations of all Christian churches in Sta. Barbara. Indeed, the town of Sta. Barbara is so blessed because of the fervent prayers said by all the participants through the leadership of their respective pastors.

“This is one of the best, if not the best fiesta celebration in our beloved hometown. And for this, I congratulate the Executive Committee for taking the lead and all those who in one way or another, have contributed to the success of the 268th town fiesta celebration of Sta. Barbara. Mabuhay ang Sta. Barbara. Mabuhay tayong lahat,” exclaimed Mayor Velasco. – DBC
