ROSALES — Priscilla Mae Moreno, a Grade V pupil of Guiling-Coliling Elementary School, could not contain her happiness when the Rosales Action Group (RAG) conducted a supplemental feeding in her school on Sept. 9.

With her frail body frame which was almost visible in the stage, she expressed her thanks to the group for choosing the school as the venue of the feeding program.

“Kami ay lubos na nagpapasalamat sa inyong tulong. Ang feeding program na ito ay makakatulong sa aming mga mag-aaral upang maging malusog, masigla at tatalino,” she said.

Priscilla Mae is one of the 164 beneficiaries of a feeding program conducted by the Rosales Action Group in coordination with the Abono Party List. The beneficiaries were from Guiling-Coliling Elementary School (132) and Pangawan Elementary School (32).

Corruption at BIR-Calasiao

mortz2In case the bill filed at the House of Representatives pushes through to impose a 5-centavo excise tax to every short message system (SMS) or text, multimedia message service (MMS), ring tone, icon, and image download from telecommunication providers Smart, Globe, and Sun so our pathetic government can earn P36 billion annually, then every Juan and Juana de la Cruz would be in a bind again.

But why tax these poor people when the government can get P37 billion yearly by just plugging the money that are being pocketed and leaked by officials of the Bureau Internal Revenue- reportedly the most corrupt office in our government.

Just take for example Pangasinan-based Revenue District Office 4 that is headed by Joseph Catapia.

The Lady or the General? Mangaldan mayor in a quandary who to support

By Mortz C. Ortigoza

Mangaldan -– This town mayor is in a bind whom to support in the coming congressional poll next year.

Mayor Herminio Romero said he was having a difficult time deciding who he will support because the “probable congressional aspirants are highly qualified.”

“Talagang napakahirap. Pareho silang mahuhusay, mabait, and both are qualified – the wife (Gina) of the good (former) Speaker (Jose de Venecia), and (retired) General (Art Lomibao),” he said.

When asked about the latest pronouncement of the former speaker that the five mayors of the 4th District will give Lomibao zero support, Romero answered in the affirmative.
