MONCADA — The Abono Partylist culminated the Gulayan at Maisan sa Barangay Program in the first district of Tarlac province by holding two separate awarding ceremonies in the towns of Moncada and Camiling on September 1.

Attended by municipal and barangay officials of the ten towns of district 1, the awarding of prizes ranging from P25,000 for the first prize, P15,000 for the second prize and P10,000 for the third prize was a happy occasion.

In a short program in both venues, the municipal mayors expressed their thanks to the Abono for embarking on the program and promised that they will support similar programs in the future.

Two gentlemen

vir2While most politicians these days celebrate their birthdays with much fanfare and spending too much money for their lavish food preparation, here’s one politician who thinks of the welfare of the people, especially the indigents by co-sponsoring medical health mission and giving away goodies.

I am referring to Abono Partylist Rep. Robert Raymund M. Estrella Jr., popularly known as Eskimo, who celebrated his birthday last September 2. On that day, residents of Rosales were treated to a free medical-dental services, in coordination with Dr. Jojo Estrella Pajela, a private medical practitioner, and the local government headed by Mayor Ricardo Velo Revita.

No, I haven’t talked personally with Rep. Eskimo about those activities. He’s secretive about his personal endeavors and at shuns limelight, even on Abono’s major activities. While covering the medical-dental mission, Abono President Ponciano Onia Jr. told me that Rep. Eskimo was part of the activity. The birthday boy was in Manila at that time attending legislative work at the House of Representatives and perhaps celebrated his day in silence.

Rosales folks benefit from Abono’s medical mission

By Virgilio Sar. Maganes

ROSALES — Villa Pineda, 54 and resident of Zone 5 here, is suffering from hypertension and could hardly seek medical attention due to poverty.

She was therefore very thankful when the Abono Partylist and the local government held a medical-dental mission last September 2 to help the poor people in their medical needs.

“Napintas daytoy nga ar-aramiden ni Mayor (Ricardo Revita) ken Dr. (Jojo) Pajela. Maikkannak kon ti agas ken ma-check-up dagiti dadduma a sakit ko. (This is a very good activity of Mayor and Dr. Pajela. Now I could avail of medicines and medical check up),” Pineda said.
