JDV says 4th district mayors won’t back Lomibao

By Mortz C. Ortigoza

DAGUPAN CITY – Rep. Jose de Venecia pooh-poohed the capacity of a rumored congressional rival of his wife to snare the support of the mayors in the next year polls.

He said that former police general and incumbent Land Transportation Office chief Arturo Lomibao will get zero support from the five mayors of a city and towns that compose the fourth congressional district.

He said that Lomibao cannot get the support of the mayors belonging to the administration party because they are supportive of him (JDV).

“All the mayors are my men!” the former speaker, who is now identified with the opposition, confidently declared.

Noynoy’s questionable congressional accomplishments

mortz2Public attention is now focused on Senator Noynoy Aquino. Thanks to the outpouring of support from mourners who braved the intermittent rains, and who walked what seemed like countless of hours and kilometers.

This Cory frenzy happened primordially not because she restored democracy, but because she is the exact opposite of the “maldita-looking” President Gloria M. Arroyo.

This frenzy helped make poll tail-ender presidential wannabe Senator Mar Roxas to give way to Nonoy Aquino’s presidential bid.

Noynoy’s handlers know very well the adage, “Strike while the iron (The Cory Magic) is hot.”

Sta. Barbara still hopes town will host airport

By Mortz C. Ortigoza

STA. BARBARA – The mayor of this town said he and his constituents will only stop their bid to have an international airport if the P2.3 billion government appropriation for an airport in Alaminos City is included in the General Appropriation Act.

Mayor Reynaldo Velasco reacted to the statements of Eng. Eduardo Garcia, project development officer of the city government of Alaminos, that the hotly contested air facility in his town was already a done deal.

“Iyan ang sinasabi ng kanilang City Planning Officer. But that is not what the (ATO) Air Transportation Office says. ATO says Sta. Barbara is better,” said.
