Villasis SB is top in Pangasinan
VILLASIS -– The Sangguniang Bayan of this town has been adjudged as the Most Outstanding Sangguniang Bayan/Panlungsod among the 47 municipal and city councils in the province.
Vice Mayor Centenielo Rizal R. Costales, SB presiding officer, said the achievement was a product of the good relationship between the legislative and executive offices and the dedication and commitment of the SB members to render service to their constituents.
He also pointed out the contribution of the hardworking members of the Sangguniang Bayan (SB) secretariat headed by Secretary Leticia Corpuz.

Youth gather to raise development awareness

ROSALES — A gathering of youth leaders from the interfaith sector and from the political sector was held here to come up with series of activities to highlight the achievements and goals of Presidential Management Staff Director General Hermogenes Esperon.
The activities are youth oriented projects to raise the level of awareness of the youth with regard to the coming elections in 2010.
The youth is concerned with the level of development that the district has attained and is more concerned about its progress 2010 and beyond.

Winning the Maisan top prize ‘bittersweet,’ village head says
ALCALA -– It was a bittersweet victory for San Vicente barangay captain Merly Cuaresma whose village won the top prize of the Maisan sa Barangay contest.
Cuaresma’s son Jude, 33, one of the forces behind the successful bid, died four days after the list of winners was released.
Cuaresma said she received a call from town Mayor Manuel Collado on July 4 when Jude was at the hospital in Quezon City .
“He informed me that our entry to the Maisan sa Barangay contest won the provincial level prize. I whispered to Jude that we won, and he was very happy,” she said.
