STA. BARBARA – Some 4,300 less privileged residents of Sta. Barbara received the PhilHealth cards during a program on August 15 at the Orbos Gym.

The Philhealth cards distribution was sponsored by the Municipality of Sta. Barbara and Third District Rep. Rachel “Baby” Arenas.

The cards were distributed through the effort of the Department of Social Welfare and Development headed by Ms. Wilma Coquia.

Mayor Reynaldo Velasco, a retired police general said, “Providing efficient health care services to the less fortunate is one of our 10-point progress agenda.”

“The municipality of Sta. Barbara has been sponsoring health cards for indigents since 2006 with initial beneficiaries of 500 but for this year Mayor Velasco had it increase to 1,250,” Coquia said.
