Classes to start on June 1 even in typhoon-affected areas in Pangasinan – DepEd

Dagupan City – Classes will start on June 1 as scheduled in typhoon-ravaged schools in western Pangasinan, education officials said Thursday at a media forum here.

Dr. Aurora Domingo, Pangasinan 1 division superintendent, told the KBP Forum at the Philippine Information Agency office that she is considering three options in order to start classes on June 1 amid suggestions to reset the opening of schools one to two weeks to accommodate rehabilitation of the badly-damaged schools.

Domingo said that one of the options is to hold classes in two shifts. The other is to use available buildings near the schools like chapels and barangay halls. The third is by fusing sections so that one class may hold up to 60 pupils. “Nasa final evaluation na kami kung ano ang magandang gawin,” she said.

Panelco III urged to elect new directors

By Virgilio Sar. Maganes

URDANETA CITY – Member-consumers of the Pangasinan Electric Cooperative III (Panelco III) has asked the management and the board of directors to elect a new set of directors, saying the directors have been overstaying for more than a year now.

This came about after majority of the board of directors allegedly moved to postpone the scheduled election in June due to the passage of Republic Act 9250, which amended the Cooperative Code of the Philippines.

It will be recalled that PANELCO III was newly converted into a stock cooperative under the Cooperative Development Authority (CDA). Before its conversion, the cooperative was under the operational and administrative supervision of the National Electric Administration (NEA).

Viewpoints: Virtues unite; vices divide

bishop2It is quite interesting as well as intriguing to take note of the long standing fact that by and large, the so called “homo sapiens” precisely does not think and act wisely.

It appears that his convoluted brain makes him have nothing more than likewise convoluted thought pattern and distorted value system. This is much worst than simply not thinking straight and acting upright – something which is negative in expression and wherefore non-existent in reality.

The fact is worst: The proverbial “knowing man” learns what is wrong and consequently acts wrongly as well.
