As a result of the latest decision of the Supreme Court awarding Abono Party List its second congressional seat, a question cropped-up among political experts: Who would be the party’s third nominee in case it wins all the three seats in the 2010 national poll?

Party founder and chair Rosendo So said he is still eyeing who would be nominated for the post since he is going to discuss it with party members.

He added that at present, Francisco Emmanuel R. Ortega III has to contend himself in crafting bills as he and his staff are looking for an office in the House of Representatives.

Corpse falling from bridge, a tall-tale – Acain

labradorBy Mortz C. Ortigoza

LABRADOR – “It was sheer exaggeration,” declared by this town’s mayor Ernesto Acain who watered-down news on the airwaves that a corpse fell from its casket when the bridge’s bamboo slits broke-off as they traversed on it in Barangay San Jose of this town.

“People there told me that the cadaver did not fall to the water. What they confided to me that one of the bearer’s feet shoot-down to one of the small holes of the bridge made of bamboo,” he said.

He explained that it is impossible that this incident happened since the length and dimension of the bridge is too big to allow a corpse to fall to the water.

Perspectives: Brewing political war fronts

PhotobucketBy Mortz C. Ortigoza

My political source in Eastern Pangasinan told me that last term San Manuel Mayor Badong Perez will forego his intention to run for the 6th District congressional seat against the likes of former AFP Chief of Staff Hermogenes Esperon and Vice Governor Marlyn Primicias-Agabas.

My source told me that Perez would instead run as the vice mayor of his son Jericho (a vice mayor presently) who will run for the mayoralty seat in the May 14, 2010 local poll.

“The opponent of his son is former Vice Admiral Virgilio Marcelo (the present top honcho of the San Roque Power Corporation based in San Manuel) who is rumored to run for the town’s number one post.
