Indian boy robbed

LINGAYEN — Two robbers armed with a handgun robbed an Indian national of his daily collection in Barangay Quibaol, Lingayen.

Supt. Harris Fama, chief of police identified the victim as Balbir Singh, 36, married, businessman and an Indian national with an address at Barangay Tapuac, Dagupan City.

Fama said the victim collecting weekly payment of loans when one o the robbers pointed a gun at him while the other suspect forcibly took his P5,000, a Nokia cellular phone, helmet and his motorcycle with plate number 2771.

The robbers immediately fled using the victim’s motorcycle. Lingayen police recovered the motorcycle along the shoulder road of the river dike in Barangay Talogtog.

Fama advised Indian businessmen to be very vigilant when going around collecting payment.

Calasiao student tops national secondary press confab

A senior student of Precious Minds Montessori and High School came home to ecstatic welcome of teachers, friends and schoolmates and to warm embrace of her family after emerging the top winner in a national journalism tilt.

Elisha Randee G. Vargas, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Randolph A. Vargas, bagged the first prize in editorial writing in English at the recently concluded 2009 National Secondary Schools Press Conference in Naga City, Camarines Norte.
