I can work with Mayor Lim – VM Fernandez

DAGUPAN CITY- Vice Mayor Belen Fernandez assured Dagupeños that as the second highest city official, she can work closely with City Mayor Benjamin Lim for the betterment of the city..

This she said before media men during the KBP Forum last February 16 at the People’s Astrodome here.

“I can work with anyone in the city government especially with Mayor Lim. Pag maganda ang proyekto, I will support, but not those overpriced projects,” she said.

Fernandez said it is City Administrator Vlad Mata who is not keen preventing working relationship between her and Lim, saying “ Ayaw niya (Mata) kaming magkasundo ni Mayor Lim.”

“City Administrator Mata should be our link with the chief executive. But he is not transparent. Ewan ko kung may utos si Mayor (Lim) o wala sa kanya,” Fernandez further said.

The rift between Lim and Fernandez and majority of the Sangguniang Panlungsod members started when during the deliberations of city budget for 2012, Mayor Lim instructed his department heads not to appear before the august body.

“This is no longer politics. We have to work together and lay out the development of the city,” Vice Mayor Fernandez said.
